Google Chrome is our favourite browser but it’s not privacy-first.
Firefox is privacy-first but it’s not Chrome.
Brave is like Chrome and is also privacy-first, but it has it’s own issues with a number of sites.
Goddamit!
Enter Microsoft Edge.
Yes, Microsoft Edge. You heard that right. Microsoft Edge.
Edge has a brand new version and it’s brilliant.
It’s privacy-first and gives you full control over the security settings. You can choose from three different tracking levels. If you use Bing in the browser’s InPrivate mode, the search engine will also delete your data the way the browser does.
It has a great Reader Mode built right into the browser. You can customise the Reader with fonts and colours, get better at grammar by having it highlight nouns, verbs, adjectives, etc, choose a line focus mode for easy reading and even have it read out the content to you in a voice of your choice.
It allows you to group websites in different collections so that you can organise sites and pages as you browse the web. There are a ton of other things that make Edge a very good browser.
And the best part is that it is built on Chromium, which means that the browser looks like Chrome and allows you to install all Chrome extensions as well. Extensions are typically why you’d stick to Chrome and with Edge, even that’s not a reason anymore to not shift.
And oh! The mobile version of Edge is also great and allows you to sync data and tabs by signing into the browsers on desktop and mobile.
So yeah, you absolutely have to use Microsoft Edge.
